Oblivion of course has one of the greater problems with the use of their voice actors, which is the beggars.

At the very least the acting wouldn't be so offensively copy-paste, as if the same actor was given a million lines for one character, only to have it cut up into 100 characters.

With Bethesda's method of handling their voice talent, I'd personally rather have them just not get A-List Actors, except maybe for key characters where they give a damn to give proper direction, and just hire B-List or even non-professionals to fill in the rest. And without direction given for each specific character, most of them end up sounding the same, with the same tone of voice and the same inflections. The problem though, is Bethesda games have hundreds of characters, but only have a fraction of actors.

Voice acting overall in Oblivion is bad, however there are some talnted voice acting nonetheless. I wish they had used hundreds of different voices for all the NPCs. I quite like the voice acting though so like to keep it on but it's a bit unrealistic when two different characters have the same voice actor. I like having the subtitles on so I can make sure I don't miss anything important.
